Following a request from the Junior Organisers at Burhill G C in August we arranged a date for them to play a friendly match against us and they brought a team of 12 juniors and 4 adults during the half term school holidays. Their trip also included a golf match with Formby and Hesketh G C junior sections. Burhill G C has a thriving junior section with 150 junior members of which 27 are junior girls. 10 of the juniors on this trip were single figure players aged 16-18 including 4 girls.

Burhill G C which is situated in Walton-on-Thames was founded in 1907 by the Guinness family and has two 18 hole courses, of which the second one is quite new finished in 2001

Our juniors enjoyed their matches and although Burhill proved to have a very strong team and won overall, the golf was played in good spirit. One of our players, Connor Broadhurst also played against them in their match with Hesketh G C as they were short of low handicap players for their match.

Three Junior Organisers Angie Crockett, Anette Shilton, Mike Prior, as well as their Club professional Mike Winstanley played with Phil Marsh, Matt Hendrick (our club assistant pro), Mavis Goodall and Caryl Evans.
