LADIES’ AUTUMN MEETING
On Tuesday 24th September over 80 ladies attended the annual Autumn Supper and prize presentation for the Autumn meeting. which is the third of the ladies’ four main meetings of the year.
The Lady Captain entertained the ladies with an amusing account of Gentlemen commenting on a request to introduce a Ladies’ Golf Championship in 1891 as unworkable with one of the reasons given ladies weren’t suited to play this game.
Due to heavy rain in the early morning only 19 cards were taken out. However, the course stood up well to this and the greens were still smooth and fast.
