The rearranged annual Family Foursomes competition was played on Sunday 20 September. Sixteen couples entered the 18 hole Greensome Stableford competition playing for the Family Foursomes trophy. The weather was beautiful with warm sunshine and a mild breeze, which was reflected by the good scoring and smiling faces of the competitors.
The scores were close with a card play off for the winning score of 41 points recorded by Junior Captain Joe and his older brother Jack who just beat Nick & Phil Gallimore on the back 9. There was fierce competition for nearest the pin on the 17th for the younger players in each pairing which changed 4 times until Ben Barton played his tee shot closest to the pin.
We had just 3 couples in the 9 hole competition this year which was also keenly contested. The winners with 14 points were James and William Jaycock. Nearest the line was declared a draw between William Jaycock and Jack Taylor.
