Captains’ Message
On behalf of the members and staff we extend a warm welcome to The West Lancashire Golf Club website
To visit our splendid true links course your tee time can be booked from this website or by contacting our office from the details in the Contact Us section of the website.
The club was founded in1873 and we continue to host prestigious professional and amateur championships. This year, in July, we will again be hosting Final Qualifying for The Open Championship. We expect many well-known golfers from the professional ranks from the European tours, from the LIV tour and many leading amateur golfers to be attempting to qualify for the Open itself at Royal Troon.
We will again in April be hosting a leg of the successful ladies’ professional Rose Series featuring many up-and-coming lady professional golfers competing .
In August we host the Jacques Leglise Trophy match between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe for boys under 18, together with the Junior Vagliano Trophy match for junior girls under 16 between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe.
We are sure you will enjoy the experience of playing our well-maintained links course and similarly enjoy the facilities offered in our recently refurbished clubhouse, professional shop run by our Head Professional Gavin Abson and his team of friendly Assistant Pros and our upgraded practice facilities. Take time to digest the rich history of the club and the West
Lancashire Ladie’s Club which is displayed in the Clubhouse.
The course is situated alongside the Mersey estuary and has magnificent views over
the river towards Snowdonia and North Wales.
We look forward to welcoming you to our club for what will be an unforgettable experience.
Brian Lawlor and Margaret Milne.
