Interclub Scratch Team Tournament - Sunday 19th June

The West Lancashire Golf Club hosted the Interclub Scratch Team Tournament on Sunday 19th June. Margaret Milne, Captain of Lancashire Ladies presented the 2022 Scratch Shield to Royal Birkdale. who won with 240. Formby Ladies and St. Annes Old Links tied for 2nd place with 249. Nicola George from Royal Birkdale won the best individual score with a 78. The team representing West Lancashire, Penny Thompson, Rebecca McDermott, Sara Meehan and Caryl Evans came 10th out of 16. Diane Beaver from Royal Lytham had a hole in one on the 3rd. Find out More

FINAL OPEN QUALIFYING 2023- 26
West Lancashire, Burnham & Berrow, Dundonald Links and Royal Cinque Ports have been confirmed as new venues to stage Final Qualifying for The Open. The four courses will host qualifying events starting in 2023 and running until 2026, with tour players, club professionals and elite amateurs competing for places in golfs original Championship. West Lancashire has a renowned reputation for staging professional and amateur championships and celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2023. It hosted the Womens Amateur Championship in 2020 having also co-staged The Amateur Championship with Formby in 2009. In 2014, it was the venue for the Junior Open and has also been a regular venue for Final Qualifying. Final Qualifying is contested by a combined field of 288 players, including those who have been successful in Regional Qualifying events, with a minimum of 12 places in The Open available.
