The green keeping team is led by our Course Manager Stuart Hogg, who has worked on links courses his entire career. His Deputy is Peter Cotgreave who has worked here at West Lancashire for over 25 years, having previously worked and learnt his trade at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, along with 6 other greenkeepers and a full time mechanic to maintain the required fleet of machinery.

Continual Improving

The aim every day of the golfing season is to achieve as close to Championship Standards as possible but still carrying out the required practices the turf requires. The course has seen continued investment over the last 8 years since Stuart’s arrival in April 2015, and the course now provides a much more enjoyable round of golf, while still remaining a tough test.

The club is always looking at ways to plan for the future and have currently invested in the practice facilities and committed to another 5 year machinery deal. The course layout has always been world class, and now the continual improving condition matches the layout.
