The Club invites you to share our great course and Clubhouse with golfers from home and abroad, and promises that your trip to West Lancashire will be a very enjoyable experience.

The links are in fantastic condition all year round. The Yellow Tees, measuring 6239 yards, provide a course which is a fair test of golf. If you enjoy a challenge and wish to play some classic links golf on one of the top ten oldest courses in England why not pay us a visit. Girls' British Open Amateur Championship
Venue: The West Lancashire Golf Club
Date: August 10th 2009 to August 14th 2009

One round of 18 holes will be played on each of the first two days for which a draw will be made. The 64 lowest scores over the 36 holes shall qualify for the match play stage. Ties for the last place(s) for the automatic draw shall be decided by card count back using the second18 hole score. In the event of a tie in the match play a hole-by-hole play off will take place.

The handicap limit is 9.4 and entry is limited to 144 competitors and the winner will become the "2009 Girls' British Open Amateur Champion" A team award and age group prizes are played in conjunction with the qualifying rounds. The closing date for entries is Thursday 9th July 2009 An up to date list of entries can be viewed at the LGU web site.

The provisional format is as follows:

Qualifying x 2          06.45 - 16.00 (10mins)         3 Balls x 48
Wednesday 07.00 - 11.08 (8 mins) 1st Rnd
Wednesday 11.30 - 15.15 (15 mins) 2nd Rnd
Thursday 08.30 - 09.40 (10 mins) 3rd Rnd
Thursday 13.00 - 13.45 (15 mins) Quarter Finals
Friday 08.30 - 08.40 Semi- Finals
Friday 13.00 FINAL
