As Captain of the West Lancashire Golf Club, I thank you for visiting our website and I hope that this is the first step to seeing you here in person.
Founded in 1873 and the oldest in the county, our Club is the cradle of golf in Lancashire. Our rich history and connections with both the Amateur Championship and the Open Championship are fully shown on the walls of our modern clubhouse, which from our balcony, and close to Antony Gormley's 'Another Place', offers stunning views of the River Mersey and the Welsh mountains and hills beyond.
We are located on England's Golf Coast among some of the finest courses in the country, and it was Donald Steel who wrote
"Only in Britain can one savour the true flavour of seaside golf, of which West Lancashire is a perfect example"
and it was John Betjeman, writing of seaside golf, who wrote of
"Lark song and sea sounds in the air and splendour, splendour everywhere".
It's all here, so come and see for yourself. It's so easy to access our Visitor Tee Time Booking facility - Visitor Tee Booking
If you enjoy golf heritage, enjoy a challenge and wish to play a true links course, we look forward to welcoming you and your party and are confident that you will long remember, with pleasure, your West Lancashire experience.
