117th Women’s Amateur Championship

The R&A invited The West Lancashire Golf Club to stage the 117th Women’s Amateur Championship.

Germany’s Aline Krauter held her nerve to claim the biggest title of her career after winning the 117th Women’s Amateur Championship at West Lancashire.

The 20-year-old fought back from three down after the opening four holes to defeat Englishwoman Annabell Fuller, 18, by one-hole in a dramatic 18-hole Final.

Regional Qualifying

With the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush, the R&A have invited The West Lancashire Golf Club to stage a Regional Qualifying Competition.

17 June – With the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush, the R&A have invited The West Lancashire Golf Club to stage a Regional Qualifying Competition on this day.

This will be the final year West Lancashire host Regional Qualifying before it moves on to Caldy Golf Club.

Regional Qualifying

With the 147th Open Championship returning to Carnoustie, the R&A have invited The West Lancashire Golf Club to stage a Regional Qualifying Competition.

22 June – With the 147th Open Championship returning to Carnoustie, the R&A have invited The West Lancashire Golf Club to stage a Regional Qualifying Competition on this day.

English Womens’ Amateur Championship

The English Womens’ Amateur Championship returned to the Club, in July.

BRONTE LAW, the holder, was here, and GRACE CANNON, ELOISE HEALEY and HOLLIE MUSE, (West Lancashire), played also.

The Winner was SAMANTHA GILES (St Mellion), seen here receiving the Trophy from the Captains, JACQUELINE BICKERSTAFFE and ANIL SHARMA.

West Lancashire Ladies Celebrated 125 Years

West Lancashire Ladies Celebrated 125 Years of Golf at Blundellsands.

Mrs MARIAN RAE, President, England Golf, was the Principal Guest at their ANNIVERSARY DINNER.

2014

The Junior Open Championship

The Junior Open Championship was played at West Lancashire, when THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP returned to ROYAL LIVERPOOL. 73 golfing nations affiliated to the R&A, were represented.

TEODORO SOLDATI (Italy) and DIANE BAILLIEUX (Belgium) were joint Runners-Up, but the Winner, receiving the trophy from DAVID McDERMOTT, was 15 year old Irishman, KEVIN LE BLANC.

2013

The English Boys’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship

The English Boys’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship for the CARRIS TROPHY, was played for the first time, at West Lancashire.

BEN AMOR, (Marlborough), the winner, received the Trophy from TOM DICKINSON, after beating RENATO PARATORE (Italy), and JAMIE LI (Bath), in a play-off.

2012

Final Open Qualifying

Final Open Qualifying Scoreboard at West Lancashire, for the 141st OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP at ROYAL LYTHAM & ST. ANNES, won by ERNIE ELS.

SCOTT PINCKNEY (USA), birdied the first six holes of his second round at West Lancashire, to card a 64, and set a new Professional Course Record.
